Progress of the QTS Scheme
In April 2000, the then Hong Kong Tourist Association (now the Hong Kong Tourism Board) appointed BBTS as the administrator of the Quality Tourism Services (QTS) Scheme.

In the 35 months to March 2003, a total of 1,164 organisations had been recruited, representing 3,557 outlets. Of these, 739 organisations representing 2,473 outlets were from the Retail category, while 425 organisations representing 1,084 outlets were from the Restaurant category.
The role of Scheme Administrator includes acting as the QTS Secretariat and holding regular meetings with the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) to review the process of QTS assessment.

Two QTS Council meetings were held in 2002. Various strategies and policies were formulated by the QTS Council to facilitate both the development and administration of the Scheme.

Thanks to BBTS the number of merchants
acquiring QTS status have increased.
