QTSA 11th Annual General Meeting


(29 March 2006) The 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Quality Tourism Services Association (QTSA) was successfully held on 28 March 2006 at Ballroom, 3/F., Sheraton Hotel, Tsimshatsui.

The Hon Mrs Selina Chow, GBS, OBE, JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Honorary Adviser of QTSA had presented a speech on how 2006 Discover Hong Kong Year could bring business opportunities to the trade.

During the AGM, having a recapitulation on QTSA’ activities in the past year, QTSA Chairman Mr Vincent Fang, JP also announced the newly elected Governing Council for 2005 - 2007.

Mr Fang congratulated these business elites who joined the Governing Council, “QTSA will continue to focus our efforts in four major areas which are Quality Enhancement, Members Communication, Collective Clout on Industry, and Marketing Efforts to Enhance Quality Image. Our new Governing Council Members, with their expertise and experiences, will contribute much in QTSA for further enhancements.” Upon the completed term as Chairman after the AGM, Mr Fang received great support to take up the new role as Appointed Member of the Association.

QTSA has dedicated much in quality enhancement through a wide variety of seminars and trainings for member staff of various levels. These activities equipped them with knowledge as well as service skill. Since 2004, the “Sharing of Business Elites” series was introduced as a forum for the idea exchange for management from the retailing and catering sectors. QTSA activities had recorded a total attendance of over 2,500 participants in the past year. In addition to events, the Association has kept members abreast of the industry trends though newsletters, surveys and studies. QTSA is keen to initiate media projects and gather members together for creating better business environment for them.

QTSA’s member number now approaches 1,200 totaling 5,500 outlets, covering renowned restaurants, retailers and tourism service providers.
